FOR THE PRODUCTS OF THE GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATION TYRNAVOS
The Tyrnavos Wines and Spirits Association with the distinctive title Tyrnavos Wines & Spirits was founded in Tyrnavos in the form of a Civil Non-Profit Company in 2022. The Association includes 13 winemakers and distillers of the Tyrnavos region who cover almost the entire production of Protected Geographical Indication Tyrnavos wines and Tsipouro Tyrnavos. The aim of the association is to promote and protect the wines and spirits of the area, to promote the local cultural heritage of the vineyard, wine and spirits and to develop them for tourism. The newly established Association of Winemakers and Distillers of Tyrnavos has registered a collective mark for PGI wines and Tsipouro Tirnavos PGI at the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union. This mark will be able to be used on the labels and packaging of all products of these categories produced by the members of the Association and will be used to promote the Tirnavos wine-growing area.
The establishment of the Association and the acquisition of a collective mark are pioneering actions for the Greek standards that enhance the extroversion of the Tyrnavos's Vineyard and its products, continuing in this direction, the Association will continue to upgrade the sector of viticulture, winemaking and distillation of the region.
